The Chesham club was granted its Charter in September 1947 and we have a founder-member still attending our meetings and he also celebrated his 100 birthday in May 2008. We are a dual gender club, supporting charitable work at home and overseas.

To help victims of earthquakes and other natural disasters. We purchase Shelter Boxes, (£500) which contain water purification equipment, tools, blankets, a cooking stove, pots and pans a tent to sleep ten persons etc, These boxes are among some of the first aid to arrive at the point of need. They were though up by the Rotary Club  of  Helston, Cornwall.  They are welcomed by the Aid Agency

We hold two main fundraising events each year. The Sponsored Horse Ride, based at Dundridge Manor each September. This is a six-mile ride through the lovely Chiltern countryside, with around 35 jumps that can be taken or ridden around.
And no roads to be ridden on. This year 102 riders enjoyed the event and we will be staging it again in 2009 on 5th September.  ( See Event Diary for details.)

Each May/June we hold a Charity Golf Day at Chartridge Park Golf Club, when some 80 golfers enjoy a day’s play, followed by dinner and a guest speaker.

Stroke Awareness Day is staged each April when we offer free blood pressure tests, taken by doctors and nurses who advise on any further action they  think should be taken.  This has saved lives,
Why not take advantage of this and may be save your life. See Event Diary for details.

Working with young people is another important aspect of Rotary work. Each year we stage a Technology Tournament in February , Kids Out in June and the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards in June.
